Will I get rescinded?

I got accepted today for proposed computer science, but after reading others’ stats, it seems like my acceptance might be a fluke.

I’m OOS with a 2.71 GPA out of 4.00 and 2050 SAT (1340 CR + M). Ranked 52% in my class.

ECs are pretty average, did some clubs like art and aerospace, nothing serious.

Wrote an android app last summer which got a few hundred downloads.

Worked with a college counselor to help write excellent essays, which I believe helped, but otherwise nothing impressive.
I saw that UCSC requires a minimum of a 3.0, which surprised me since my first semester senior year grades were pretty much all C’s (4 AP classes) and I’ve been slacking all year.

Will UCSC rescind me when I submit my final grades? My GPA will probably be around a 2.6 but won’t have any D’s or F’s.

As an OOS applicant, the minimum UC GPA to apply is a 3.4 so not sure how you are calculating your UC GPA?

UCSC requires a 3.0 weighted GPA with no D’s or F’s to keep your provisional admission. Since you have straight C’s but 4 AP classes, these will be weighted. Did you self-report your grades correctly??

I agree unless you are a recruited athlete, your GPA does not seem to meet the minimum to even be considered so not sure how or why you were accepted.

What is your UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
UC’s only use 10-11th grades and you get extra honors points for AP/IB or DE course (not HS designated Honors courses).

If you are afraid of being rescinded, you might want to contact admissions now to find out if everything is fine with your application. Something definitely does not seem right??

Thanks @Gumbymom. I used the website you linked and got
Unweighted GPA 2.90
Weighted GPA 3.45
Weighted and Capped GPA 3.30

I copied my grades directly from my official transcript to calculate this, and ran my application through my college counselor before submitting to ensure no errors were present. I submitted an official transcript back in November as well, so there definitely shouldn’t be any error on my side.

Thoughts?

So you do meet the minimum GPA, so then you are good to go. I would still be concerned about your Senior year grades. If you use the calculator just for Senior year along with your AP classes, are you getting a 3.0 weighted GPA?

@Gumbymom it dropped from a 3.45 & 3.30 to 3.15 & 3.04. Still above 3.0 but will a significant drop warrant being rescinded too? My junior year grades were a mix of As and Bs but senior year I’ve taken a higher workload but performed lower. Thank you so much for your insight.

I think you should be fine as long it is at 3.0 or above.
