Hi, Cornell Class of 2014 for ILR. So far, I've maintained a 3.85 on my unweighted GPA and about a 4.2 for my weighted GPA until this second semester of my senior year. This semester, I may end up with this:

AP Econ: A
AP Physics: C/B
4th year language Arts: B/A
4th year social studies: B/A
Marketing 1: B/A
AP Calculus BC: B
Accounting 1: B

The "/" are just to indicate that I might end up with one grade or the other depending on how final grades work out.

Will I have a serious shot at being rescinded? I'm getting a bit worried now with school nearly ending.

Ok realistically it’ll be more like everything works out to be straight B’s though with the exception of AP Econ (thank goodness for this class).

And no I really am a bit concerned. It’s a still huge drop from my previous grades though. Are they looking to just see the bare minimum of Cs?

hello? forget about what the college thinks and get reviewing on those classes that you had a hard time with. No cornell or even any college for that matter will deny you your position but it is in your interest that you get yourself ahead by fixing up on your mistakes for those classes that you did not score well. Think about it…ivy…hard work… competetive year…of course fun parts but you’ll only get to enjoy them if you do well if you coursework. If you had a hard time at end of senior year with APs…just think about how you can handle cornell (their course if harder than your HS). Don’t get worked up on this but realize that you don’t want this to happen in college if you’re majoring in any of those subjects ( i know that seniors take the most important classes at the end).

Thanks for the concern hoppingbunny. Yeah you’re right. This can be a legit concern in college with parties, clubs, friends, and independence. I probably need to be more careful and responsible in Cornell. Definitely don’t want to flunk out or anything.

lol thx
A friend of mine got into Penn, and basically didnt study for his AP Bio, Chem and Calc exams, got 1,2,1 and guess what? Nothing happened! haha
Only way those exams help you after youve been accepted is with getting course credit, you wouldnt get rescinded for doing poorly on them, while Im not too familiar with IB, Id imagine its about the same.
