I hear people saying that high ACT/SAT scores can get you great scholarships, but how are my prospects if my grades don't match?

3.0 GPA
34 ACT

Yes, yes, I realize that makes me look terribly lazy, but still, am I gonna be able to get any merit-based aid? Are there scholarships that don't consider GPA as much or at all?

Most scholarships take into account both the test scores and the GPA. There may be some that don’t. You would have to check with the individual scholarships.

Hey @Kudryavka, there are plenty of scholarships that don’t consider test scores or GPA. The [Discus Awards Scholarship](HugeDomains.com) allows you to choose three out of ten attributes you excel in. While academics (i.e. GPA and test scores) is one of the ten attributes, it is not required to apply for or win the scholarship. There are other merit-based scholarships that don’t require a GPA or test score, such as Cappex’s [A GPA Isn’t Everything Scholarship](Cappex) and creative scholarships like the [Duct Tape Prom Scholarship](<a href=“http://duckbrand.com/Home/Promotions/stuck-at-prom.aspx"]Duct”>http://duckbrand.com/Home/Promotions/stuck-at-prom.aspx)

@gadad
I wrote 3.0 for simplicity’s sake, but more specifically it’s a 2.983 as of the end of my 6th semester. Technically, I’m ineligible for those all unless they decide to let me slide for being so close. Seventeen thousandths of a point away.
