Will I Get The Classes I Want?

I am in the scholars program (SDU) and I see a couple dates for scholars only orientations. I can attend the July 8th orientation date. Will I still get the classes i want? Or is it too late at that point? I would prefer later morning classes if possible and do not want to be on a waitlist. Thanks

Most people want late morning classes so you may have to take one or two early classes. I know it’s not ideal, but it happens. On the flip side, you may get lucky and your schedule works out just as you want it to. Also, the wait list really isn’t a problem. People do indeed get off the list and in the classes they want.

They open up sections as the summer goes on. Yeah, you’ll probably have to take some early classes (all my days started at 8 or 9 my first semester), but you’ll get the classes you need.

They always open up new sections at orientation. After 4 semesters my daughter has never had a problem getting the classes she wanted. She might have not gotten into the exact section she wanted, but she’s never had a problem as a Neurobiology and Physiology major and Music minor.

The only problem my daughter had was first semester freshman year. She couldn’t get the honors seminar that she wanted. I think she ended up with her third or fourth choice. She had a fairly late summer orientation. Now she registers very early because she has a ton of credits from AP.
As long as you go to orientation knowing you might have to take an early class or switch a seminar, you’ll be fine. You will get the classes you want/need.
