Will I get to class in time with these two classes?

I'm hoping to get a class at Pepper Canyon Hall that ends at 12:20 and my next class is at Humanities and Social Sciences and according to the campus map, it is in Muir and that class begins at 12:30. Is the 10 minute gap a good enough to get from PCH to Muir? I will also have a bike, if that's anything to consider.

Is a 10 minute gap usually okay for any classes in general? Any recommendations?

Thanks =)

10 minutes is usually sufficient between classes, but you won’t make it from Pepper Canyon to HSS/Muir building in 10 unless you speed-walk or bike like mad uphill. you can give the schedule a try the first few days of class, otherwise either try to reschedule or just deal with being a little late (I was 1-2 minutes late everyday to math lecture one quarter and it wasn’t a big deal).

However if you have any kind of discussion that has an effect on your grade, you should explain why you’re late to your TA. If your class in HSS is a humanities or writing discussion you may have to be cautious about being chronically late, since that can impact your grade.

It’s a pretty difficult walk. In my junior year we had 9AM biochem in PCYNH and 10AM pchem in HSS; so many of us were chronically late (and out of breath) to the second class that we persuaded the chemistry department to reschedule the first class to Center Hall instead.

You probably won’t make it in 10 minutes but it’s almost certainly fine being late. If it’s a small class or if you feel like it you can tell the professor that you’ll be a minute or so late every class because of the distance between your classes just so they know you’re not being rude and can expect it. You should be perfectly fine.

8.38 minutes assuming you walk ~15 min miles.

^^
Pretty sure that just takes into account the distance between two areas and not the terrain/geography between them.

Thats true since it is uphill. But its a good approximation (:
