I got into UCSD for computer science at Warren College. Getting to the point, will I be able to graduate in 4 years with a B.S. degree in CS? I've taken some college CS courses at community colleges..will this speed anything up?

If you work hard and pass all your classes, you should probably graduate in 4 years.

Yes, you will be able to graduate in four years.

are u sure about this? I hear it takes usually 5 years now due to the economic crisis in CA at UCs.

And Warren has very few GEs for engineering majors.

It ultimately all depends on you and how well you can handle decently-sized loads. I do have a couple of friends (somehow) double majoring CS with Bio Sci’s and are on track to finish in under 5 years. Similarly, I have a friend finishing in 4 who has been RA/TAing every quarter since Sophomore year.

HOWEVER, these are exceptions to the rule. MOST of my CS friends do finish with a single major in > 4 years, but many of them wouldn’t have a problem if they just weren’t so lazy (IMO). Quite a few of them do all right (GPA-wise) while taking 3 classes/quarter, no job/research, and spend quite a bit of time idling during the week.
