Will I have less of a chance?

I keep hearing from adults that having a job would add some weight to a college application. The problem is, though, is that I can't find a job for the life of me; I can't find a single place that is hiring. Will never having a job put me at a significant disadvantage when applying to college? Thanks.

edit: I'd like to also point out that I've recently started volunteering at a local church to help at a food pantry. I technically started doing this during my junior year (I'm a rising senior). Will my community service have meaning, even though I didn't start until later in my high school career?

Most colleges admit/reject people solely based on GPA/test scores. Only the tippy top schools care a lick about extra curriculars.

“Will never having a job put me at a significant disadvantage when applying to college?”

No. Even the top schools only want to know how productive you are outside the classroom and if you’re a person of impact.
