New student for Spring 2017.
I will not be waived from the exam via AP score, however my AP score did give me credit for PreCalc and Calc I at SCCC (I got a 3). I’m currently taking Calc II. Would I still have to take the placement test even though I didn’t get the required 4 or 5 on Calc AB/BC, but I will have Calc II (transferable) complete by the end of this semester?
Nope, you should be able to waive the test. Talk with Orientation and they’ll assist.

Even if I got a 3 on the AP (which gives me no credit at SBU)? I’m asking because I plan on enrolling in courses that require Calc I. I just don’t want to have an issue at orientation and have them tell me I can’t enroll in the courses I want because I didn’t take the test.
Talk to Orientation; it shouldn’t be an issue, but they’ll confirm. (orientationoffice@stonybrook.edu)
