Will I like it there?

Soo as this is my first post on CC ever, hello!
I just found out today I have been waitlisted for Santa Clara University and denied from my absolute dream school University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. I'm completely devastated and pretty much feel like I won't get into any of my other schools (Vanderbilt, Scripps, Wake Forest, Cal) so I'm trying to fall in love with the school I HAVE gotten into, University of Santa Cruz. It would also be a dream to get into Scripps as it's small and those who graduate are very likely to get into med school of choice.
So my question is basically will I like it at UCSC? I'm a would-be bio major (premed); very liberal, somewhat quirky. I'm afraid I won't be able to get any classes I won't, won't fit in, won't be respected as UCSC is viewed as a party school...
What do you think? Will I like it there?

If you don’t get in anywhere else, would you consider taking a gap year while you re-work your college list? Or, what about two years at your local CCC and then transferring into a UC university that you like better than UCSC?

I would probably not consider taking a gap year simply because I am eager to begin completing basic credentials (career I am considering would need 12+ years after high school so I do need to get a move on!)

Best plan would be to tough it out for two years at UCSC and then transfer to UNC or similar school.
I’m just trying to gauge whether I would be totally miserable during those two years.

If you can manage to balance mind-numbing drugs with grades, you can make it through UCSC no matter what.
