Will I lose my acceptance?

I took Calc BC, big mistake considering everything else I had this year. I got a B first semester, but now I have a C-. The teacher said he will give me a C if I keep the C-, but not if I drop. I currently have a 70%, with only a test and final left in my grade. F is expected, D is nice, C- if I'm lucky taking those tests. I seriously do not understand this class, I have straight As in other hard classes this semester and a history of As and B+s in math, but Calc BC this term is just impossible. I also devote 3-5 hours a day working as the most active member of my student union along with not even being home on the weekend for the last month due to college visits.

I got into UCSB, LMU, NYU, and UCD. I'm only looking at NYU and SB though. I'm worried though, if I sign up at a college, then lose my acceptance in July, it will also be too late for a CCC. I won't be able to start for 7 months.

Do I stand a chance?

If all the other are As, then I guess you won’t lose your acceptance.

One D is an automatic rescind from the UC system, I believe.

^ Yes I’ve heard that.

This sucks, one irrelevant test now determines my future for the next 4 (5?) years.

Yes, I’d choose NYU in this case, better than SB anyway.

Would they rescinded me? They also want 100k in loans, SB is almost free

I’d take UCSB over NYU, personally, as the location is AMAZING and I don’t really have that high of an opinion of NYU in the first place.

$100K in loans? I’d put that as not a realistic option. The UCs unfortunately have drop dead rules. They will automatically rescind for a D. I would call SB and see if they will allow a summer retake.

I’d still won’t do good in summer, I am seriously trying the hardest (actually studying, review books, hw, flash cards, all the jazz) I ever had in school and I can’t get it.

Sometimes these things just take awhile to click. Just taking the class a second time should make a C doable.

I don’t know, I honestly do not understand a word of this class. I can’t remember the simplest concepts. All I can do is take a derivative and anti-derivative, and even then not for any expression.

One ****ing class is going to ruin everything I’ve worked for

With all As I think it would be impractical for NYU to take away the Acceptance.

For UCs though I’m not that familiar.

For me, I think NYU would be better than SB. For one thing I like the environment of NYU but that’s just me. Even if you have the 100K loans and stuff- it’s a good price to pay for one heck of a ride in NYU.

but that’s just me

can you chance me though? I’m a new member so please :)

can y

yeah, but im going to law school, so even more loans

NYU told me the D would be fine, but a C would be better. I think I can get a C
