Will I Not Be Considered If I Don't Send in Required SAT Subject Tests?

I have already applied to Cornell University, whose website sates that a math and science SAT Subject Test is required for their school of engineering. I have not taken any SAT Subject Tests, so I am wondering if my application to Cornell will not even be considered without these tests? Or, if it will just hurt my application somewhat but not totally eliminate me as an optional for becoming a potential student?

it says required so I imagine it will really hurt your chances to not have them. Could you try to get on the waitlist for saturday and take them?

Only a Cornell admissions officer can conclusively answer this. However if I was designing the system I would auto-reject all the applicants who didn’t have all the required tests completed. They have enough qualified applications to filter through without spending time on incomplete apps.

If you are considered, I don’t think your app can compete with those with similar stats that did send them. Try to get in the list to take.

Cornell has a 14% acceptance rate and has to turn down many well qualified applicants who have completed and done well in all of the required standardized tests. Unless there is something really extraordinary about your application it is possible that your application may not be considered and if it is, it is unlikely that you will be admitted without the two required SAT II exams.

What will likely occur is that sometime in February, Cornell will send you a letter or email that states your applicaiton file is incomplete because SAT subject tests are missing and that you need to get them in promptly if you want to be considered for admission. Then if you don’t provide them, you will not be considered for admission. You won’t even be formally rejected, you will just be forgotten.
