even if I don't get into annenberg, will I still be considered for undeclared? I think someone may have asked this earlier but didn't get many responses...

yes you will be considered for undeclared. there is no risk in applying for the "hard" to get into majors.

you'll be considered undeclared unless you put down a second major, which is what i did

i applied first choice undeclared, second choice kinesiology, but have yet to hear. is that a bad thing?

i dont think so.. but i think you shouldve done it the other way around, but i think prob considered you for both. does it take longer if we applied to two? because i havent gotten anything yet AND im in norcal

even if you put down a 1st and 2nd choice, if you're unlucky enough to be rejected from both even then you'll be considered for undeclared.

as for putting undeclared first and kinesiology second, I'm sure the admissions person will do a double take but it shouldn't be bad at all. It's just a little odd, since basically you're saying you don't know what you want to do, but if you can't do that you'll do kinesiology. :)

if you applied to a professional school (i.e., viterbi, marshall, cinema-television) then your app may take a tad little longer. If it's going to be a lot longer though they would mail you your acceptance to undeclared and say that your decision on major is coming later.

I wouldn't be worried at all about getting into a particular school as opposed to getting into USC in the first place (unless you are applying to cinema-television). With the exception of CNTV, the admissions to a particular school are really non-competitive. They usually just make sure that you meet the bare requirements (like good grades in math and sciences for engineering, good english grades for annenberg, etc.) and they easily accept you. CNTV is the only school I know that has its own competive admissions process in addition to the standard university admissions.

And as long as you are accepted into USC, you can at least major in any subject under the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. You'll probably be registered as undeclared during orientation, but once you are underway then you can just fill out a form to change your major within the College.
