Well currently I'm enrolled in 4 classes this semester, but an unexpected financial problem occurred for me and my family. I was searching for a full-time job, and got one after the interview because of my previous work and supervisor experience. But the thing is I have to drop two of my classes in order to work, and if I drop two of them I will get 2 "W" on my transcript. Don't get me wrong I'm doing great in these two classes, but I have to work because of our financial woes that is getting worse. So the question is, will these two "W's" hurt my chances of transferring? (I want to transfer to UCSB major Business Economics emphasize Accounting) My current GPA is a 3.4.

i dont know how the admission process works, but i would think at first glance it may seem troubling. however, if you were to note somehow in your essay that you went through some financial hardships and was forced to drop the classes, im sure it will be understandable. :)

I had four and I got into a few very good schools. Of course, you have to explain things like that. My four were in one term and the circumstances, I think, warranted it.

Talk to an advisor about how schools might see this. You’ll likely have to write an addendum to your transfer applications explaining why you had to do it. But, it certainly doesn’t disqualify you from the process of applying to four-year schools.
