ok first of all, the toefl score is probs only used to determine PROFICIENCY in english cause of the fact that you need to take it for watever the reason (im guessin international?)…secondly a 34 is NOT LOW AT ALLL…DONT LET ANYONE EVER EVERY tell you that it is low!! a 34 on the ACT puts you in the range for EVERY SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY… getting a 35 or a 36 is only marginally better and not by much! a 34 puts you in the 99 percentile of all test takers which is great! sorry if i seem to be freakin out but its the truth…

also the IB diploma, i agree with xiggi above, american univs are not as lovingly high impressed by 40+ IB scores then european schools might be cause the way things work in college adms in USA is different and there are LOTS of 3.9+s applying that have taken over 10+ (some even 20+) college level courses whether they be HL IB, AP, dual enrollment, A levels, etc… not saying that a 45/45 is not impressive, it def IS but its not as big of a deal as people might put into it…basically its not your ticket to the movie, its your ticket to the gate…
