I may study at a LAC(not a famous one), and may study in the combine program 3+2. Will this program be target, if I keep high GPA ? In other words, will transfer students be competitive ? Thanks in advance.

Columbia Engineering won’t help you much. However, it might give you an edge over the rest of your competition from not well-known LAC’s.

Thank you. Do you mean the engineering major doesn’t help or there is quiete difference between Columbia C and Columbia FU for IB. Thank you again~~~

The difference is quite a big between Columbia College and Columbia Engineering. While Columbia College is roughly on par with Harvard, Wharton, Princeton, Dartmouth, Stanford, Yale, Duke, and other top feeders for Wall Street investment banks, Columbia Engineering is not in the group. In normal times, Columbia Engineering would be sufficient to land you in a big Wall Street investment bank, given you have a high GPA. However, these couple of years are anything but normal, for investment banks are no longer throwing out offers like candies during a thanksgiving parade even at the top feeder schools. Some econ & business students with GPA of 3.8+ from Harvard, Wharton, and other top feeders have been rejected by most investment banks. So you would just have to rely on nailing the interviews to increase your chances at landing offers instead of relying on Columbia Engineering.
