My parents have filed the FAFSA, but still haven't filed the CSS profile (almost a month after the deadile and only a couple weeks before decisions will be sent out.) If I leave this information incomplete, will it affect my chances of being accepted?

I don’t think it would hurt your chances for admission. You would just get no financial aid from Vandy. You would still get government need-based aid because you submitted the FAFSA. However, with admissions being so selective and colleges desiring a lower acceptance rate, maybe they look at the fact that you indicated that you needed financial aid and then didn’t submit the CSS Profile. Could show that maybe you’re not that interested anymore and would not be able to afford it if you were accepted. Of course we don’t know how transparent the admissions and financial aid offices are. Good luck nonetheless!

Vanderbilt is need-blind; your financial aid is separate from your admission decision. You’ve actually only missed the priority deadline. Filing these things out late means you get less priority and can reduce the amount of aid you receive.
