Will it be better to finish all my major prereqs by fall?(for UC transfer applicant)

I am going to apply as business/econ major, and I know that I can finish my major prereqs by spring.
However, will it be better and help me to become a bette&competitive applicant by finishing them by fall(the quarter that I will turn in the UC transfer application)? Or does it not matter at all?

Thank you!

YES! I’m assuming you’re going to be applying for fall 2019? But yes it makes you much more competitive to finish your prereqs in the fall vs. spring. Business econ is one of the few majors where it says in bold that major prereq completion by fall is HIGHLY encouraged. It’s generally good to have it done by fall for ALL impacted majors, but for business econ specifically they at times even choose to reject students just for not having it done by fall. If you have the opportunity to do it, definitely take all those classes in the fall and do electives during the spring. Even if it’d be tough to do so, just know that it’ll make you a much stronger candidate.

Thanks a lot! I think I have to take more prereq courses during this summer… haha

@green7tea definitely do that! Summer school might suck cuz while your friends are chillin you’re at school… but it’s definitely worth it in this scenario. BTW I was assuming that you were talking about UCLA, as they are extremely selective for that particular major.
