Hello guys, how are you doing?
I'm going to take SAT next may and CR section is killing me. i have a low vocabulary level. So it is getting harder and harder for me to solve CR questions . I have good preparation books but those are not helping much.

I have Barron's CR workbook . There are 800 words in the book.

Will it be enough for CR section? if I remember most words, how many will I get wrong?

^ I acquiesce to that statement. Direct Hits is THe BEST.

Don’t panic. I’m sure that you will be fine when you take your SAT.

From now until May, memorize as many vocabulary words as you can. The best way to memorize them is to incorporate them into your everyday conversations.

Memorize Greek and Latin prefixes/suffixes/roots. They are VERY helpful.

The CR sentences almost always contains the definitions of the word you will need in order to determine which word is the answer.

Remember, the answer is always in front of you.
Just relax.

Definitely get BOTH volumes of direct hits. It is imperative that you memorize the ~400 words. If you don’t have time to memorize word roots, don’t sweat because I didn’t and got all the sentence completion correct :D. But yeah, make flash cards for the direct hits words and you should improve significantly!

I think direct hits is enough. I did not study anything else for vocab and I only missed one SC on the last SAT test. Also a savior of a CCer sent me a vocab list of all the direct hits words. I still have it and can give it to someone (PM). Greek and Latin roots are not essential.

Direct Hits 1 and 2 for sure. They have a good one or two paragraphs on each word where they use the word in context in pop culture, history, science, etc. to help you remember it.

If you master those two, you will probably know 70% of words in Sentence completion. If you want to know like full 100%, memorize ANY word you see that you dont know on practice tests.
