If I pay for College Board to send my SAT score report from the October Test today, will that be okay for Early Action (Nov 1st deadline)? I mean do colleges want to have your scores BY the deadline, or will it be okay if all my other materials make it in and then my scores come a bit later?

Should I rush report the scores or will it be okay to send them normally? (btw, I'm asking specifically for UChicago)

DO NOT RUSH reports! They come in via snail mail and are that much harder for the admissions office to process. Regular speed gets them there via the web and it's faster. Do not be sucked into givng more $$ to College Board.

It will take the admissions office a couple of weeks to sort through all the apps and various peices that have come in via snail, email, slow train, etc. Do not worry. Last year they posted pictures of allthe app files on the blog to show how snowed under they were. They will also add a link in mid-November so you can check what they have logged in, etc.

Just make sure your app is submitted on time. That's the important piece.
