This semester I chose to retake one of the prerequisite classes for my major. Last semester I took Principles of Macroeconomics and did not get a very good grade at all (D). That was professor was very entertaining and seemed fired up about economics but I did not grasp his teaching style real well and/or didn’t study well for his tests cause he had just 3 tests all worth 90% of your total grade and a few homework assignments worth 10%. I did all those so I think that helped me pass. I took it with a different instructor this semester and might like his teaching and grading style better. 3 Exams, first & second 15% of grade, Final 30% of grade and Homework 30% of grade and vocab quizzes 10%. I do well in classes with homework so it might be a lot more helpful.
Also to be honest that D I received last semester I did not really deserve. My overall point total was under 60% which is cutoff for passing but the grades were all curved and passed that way. Plus the policy for my prerequisite major courses are no more than 2 D’s or F’s or any combination of those. Plus the better grades are replaced with lower ones in my college! Even though I passed already I’m hoping a better grade will be worth it to increase overall GPA.
Talk to your advisor.
Getting a D in a freshman level Macroeconomics does not bode well.
If you can’t do well in the second taking of it then perhaps Economics is not for you.
or perhaps you are not studying effectively…here are ideas:

I know I’m not an Econ major but its a required class to take regardless of your major! And I earned a C in Microeconomics last year somehow but not so great in Macro. I’m a Sophomore btw
