I have already been accepted to Umich by their Early Action date. I'm thinking about dropping AP Physics my second semester of my senior year. Would this be a reason for getting admission rescinded?

I have 2 more AP classes on my schedule already, so it's not like I'm changing it drastically....
I think its better if I notify them now, so they don't get any surprises when I graduate and they see my final transcript...

Pretty sure you’re fine. I dropped 2 AP classes during my last semester of HS (because they were worthless) and UMich didn’t do anything. Probably doesn’t hurt to ask them, though.

I wouldn’t really drop it either. Never know what you’re going to get. That, and I sincerely doubt U of M’s going to care about your grades 2nd semester.

Well, U of M said that 3 C’s, any D’s or F’s can be a cause for getting revoked. So I’m thinking that dropping a class is better than getting a terrible grade in it.

I think it might be a good idea to call them and tell them my 2nd semester schedule changed…

I would be more worried about what you are getting in your first semester, since U-M will look at those grades for sure. At our H.S., all colleges we are admitted to will get informed if we drop any class. I would try not to do anything that results in a “second look” at my admission. But I agree, better to drop than get a D or F. If you drop, try to pick up something that looks good, like an independnt study in something related to your major, or some kind of internship or something. Hopefully you have a decent HS counselor who will help you decide what is best.
