Will it take a miracle??

I'm a junior at a top high school in northern California and my circumstances have been anything but normal. I have had to battle for the last 4 years very serious medical conditions that have never allowed me to put much effort into school. My freshman and sophomore year I was in and out of school - missing 3 months straight sophomore year. I made up all my work and ended up with a gpa around 3.4. I was taking most of the highest level courses my school has to offer. I also had very strong ec's including student council, lots of community service, debate and journalism. This year, I got very sick and was out for about 5 months. I had to drop out of my AP's, but I am still in high level spanish and math classes. I am currently finishing the year with a 4.0 both semesters. However, I had to drop my ec's except for community service and now I volunteer at a hospital. My medical problems are not your typical mono or depression, rather serious heart conditions and a rare disease. On a positive note, I do not believe I will ever get very sick again, but I am wondering if it is possible for me to get into UCLA or USC. I have an SAT score of 2200. Also, what are my chances at Pepperdine, UCSD, UCSB, UCB? What will colleges think of my situation?

Sorry for the long post, thanks!

I think they will understand. I’m pretty sure you’ll get into some really selective schools.

Yeah, they have an “extenuating circumstances” section for a reason.
