Will joining the army for a year as reserve increase my chances at those schools?

<p>Hey everyone
I'm a graduating senior this year, and since I didn't get into my desired universities due to seniorities, I've decided to join the army reserve for a year, then apply to the schools I want to go to. (ECS program)
So, here is my stats.
ACT:30
ASVAB: 97
High school GPA: 3.8 UW, 3.9 or something weighted. I slacked off in the latter part of my senior year due to two weeks of absence doing some internship; as a result, I got a D in my AP Calc in third quarter, and two Cs in the 4th quarter. My final grade for the year is 4 Bs, and 4 As.
ECs:
you regular vanilla random clubs.. NHS, nothing significant.. but ARMY reserve. yay, not your regular infantry but cryptologic linguist!
Award:
The only one that worth mentioning is National AP Scholars :D</p>

U.S Military Academy
NYU
Boston College
Penn State
Columbia
Johns Hopkins
U of Chicago
Northwestern
Yale (yeah........)</p>

<p>I'm fluent in Chinese and learned English in like 4 years, some of these schools might want to see my TOEFL scores, but to hell with TOEFL, I dread that test, I dread all standardized tests.</p>

I hear ya, I’ve been thinking of sticking to Canadian universities cause of the stupid standardized tests the US needs but i think ill end up taking them -_-</p>
