Hey guys, I just noticed that Brown REQUIRE 2 SATII tests scores. For some reasons I was mislead by my friend><, and thought they only “recommend” them, but not “require” them. Right now I am extremely worried. I am a strong applicant otherwise, with great SAT, GPA, meaningful activities, and a great essay I believe. I also started an organization that helps environment and poverty and we raised $20k in donations in two years.
Also, I am an IB student, getting 7s in Math and Physics. I thought IB Physics and IB Math are way more harder than SAT Math2 and SAT physics. I just tried a few practice tests and found I could easily score 800 on both of tests, which made me even more depressed right now. I guess it is too late to take these tests now right? Will submitting my IB scores likely cancels out my lack of SAT subject tests? I am planning to major in Theatre/Music, which is not related to Math and Physics at all.
Anybody got in without SAT subject test scores?
No.
If you did not take ACT, yes. Brown, and most other top schools, tend to appreciate applicants who can follow instructions. Required does not mean optional.
I am assuming you applied with SAT 1? If you took ACT, you do not need any subject tests.
Thank you guys for the comment, I guess I have to take the consequences of my own carelessness:(
And yes I applied with SAT1 (740+740+760).
@melody99 Best of luck to you. I’m really sorry this happened. I don’t know much about much, but I DO recall reading someplace here on college confidential that a poster said that he was accepted without SAT subject test scores (and no ACT), then was required to take the tests late in the spring. Doesn’t really make sense but who knows. Gives one hope. Just hope for the best, and don’t worry too much about it.
Call the admissions office or better yet, have your guidance counselor call. No one here really knows - find out if there is anything you can do at this point
Good luck to you @Melody99 with this situation. You could never have been misled by anyone if you checked the requirements for each school. Maybe it was an innocent mistake by this friend. Did you call the admission’s office to ask about this? Good luck.

All the ivy league schools and almost all of the top 25 colleges require Subject Tests. Did you take the Feb one? If not, you NEED to have your guidance counselor call them up now.
Please don’t listen to the above poster when he/she wrote that someone got in w/out them. They are as reliable as your friend that misled you.
