Will late test scores and stuff bump me into RD?

I submitted the U-Mich application and writing supplements at around 7pm on Nov. 1st and my CSS Profile a while before. I know umich is strict about deadlines but i didnt realize that sending scores to schools from collegeboard was not instant and it would take a week or something. Also, I also forgot about fee waivers that needed to be mailed but they will go out Monday morning. Im well aware that u mich is different from most other school about their deadline but will I automatically get deferred because they haven't received everything yet?

It may be considered as RD rolling if the EA application is not completed by deadline. Perhaps it is not even considered deferred as it is not entered as EA, but I am not sure about that.

RD Rolling? does that mean that it would just be as if I sent it in as RD really early?

You will probably miss the EA cutoff. In that case, your application will be considered in rolling RD as soon as they finish the EA batch.

You will find out once you get the UMID e-mail. My D applied EA 4 weeks ago. She only received the confirmation e-mail with UMID without saying anything about EA. It is shown on the portal as EA qualified though.

Notification Plan Status: Early Action - Requested

Billcsho - is this what your D’s status shows? This is what is showing for my D. I am confused by the word Requested. Does that mean that they are considering her for EA or “may consider” her for EA?

My D’s status said “Early Action - Qualified”. I think that means the application is completed before deadline. It may take sometime for them to update the status though. Is there anything listed as “not received” on your D’s application? When did she submit the app?

She submitted the app around the 23rd - however the school material were not received till 11/2 (per the Michigan website) - though Naviance says that they were sent on 10/31. Hope that this does not disqualify her for EA - according to the school counselor and some of the other universities that she spoke to, high schools have a week after the 10/31 deadline to submit all the material

^ I think UMich extended the deadline for counselor and teacher’s recommendation till tonight, so your daughter should be fine for EA. They downloaded my D’s school report on 10/16, but it was not updated to “received” until 10/30. I guess your D’s application status should be changed to “qualified” in a few days.

Thanks - it did indeed change to Qualified today
