Will legal Studies hurt chances to get into Law School?

I understand there is no specific major recommended by Law Schools. I also know that Law Schools prefer to recieve thier students "Tabula rasa" or blank slate. Will majoring from a liberal leaning public institution like the University of California injure one's chances of getting into a good law school, like Harvard?

They don't care if you're liberal; almost all top schools are liberal except for the University of Chicago.

And it will hurt you in that you will need better grades and scores than the median because of Berkeley's poor student quality.

"And it will hurt you in that you will need better grades and scores than the median because of Berkeley's poor student quality."

Relative to who? It's true Berkeley grads get little help in the way of grade inflation, but to say thats directly related to the quality of the student body.... its a bit of a stretch. Without LSAT numbers to give a direct comparison it seems to me more a generalization that a fact.

So is it bad to take law related courses in college? I have heard people take both sides of the issue but I'm not sure which is right?.
