will less classes senior year dissuade admissions officers

In the 12th grade I'm going to be taking 4 classes 1st semester and 5 classes in the 2nd semester. Contrary to what I suppose some people might assume, these classes are comparatively harder (than what I could be taking) classes such as AP Physics: C and AB Calculus.

The reason I'm taking less classes is so I can manage a job/internship easier with classwork but I'm not sure that admissions counselors will necessarily give me the benefit of the doubt.

Will admissions look at me negatively because of this? Or will they be fine with it and accept the rigor of my schedule (IB/AP)?

probablly not , as long as your top 8% dont worry about it.

lol nah i’m not top 8%, that’s why I’m kinda concerned, otherwise i wouldn’t really care

well grades come from your junior year so you should be good either way

Grades come from your junior year but they do ask for a senior year schedule. If you are taking rigorous classes and are holding a job/internship they will notice this and less classes shouldn’t be an issue.

You said you were NOT in the top 8%? Then you’re pretty much out of luck for UT no matter what your schedule is. Start applying to other schools that accept a lower percent rank.

As for what colleges think of a shorter senior schedule - it doesn’t matter as long as you’re not totally goofing off.
