will LOW GPA in freshman and sophomore year highly influenced the college decision?

i am an international student. i transfered in Junior year. Due to the different test score standard, i have a terrible GPA for my sophomore year (something about 2.8). In junior year, I got a 4.0 unweighted GPA. also in senior, because of a religion class i didnt get a perfect GPA, but it’s still good.
I wonder if the bad GPA will have a huge impact for my college application. If so, is there anything i can do about it. like send a email to the college to explain what happened.(i had some personal issue in sophomore year which i am not comfortable to share here.)
I am applying some big colleges. i got some “nah, it’s ok” score in standardized test.
ACT:32/36
SAT:2180/2400
i dont think my application is super impressive. however i am REALLY worried about my GPA. i really dont want to show college that i am a lazy worker. should i say anything to college to explain what happened.( i didnt mention it in my essay. TBH, i cant get over it until this semester.)

Yes your GPA will affect college admission decisions. Have your GC explain any special circumstances. Use your space to talk about yourself and what you want to do.
