Will MIT accept my transfer admission

Hi all, I am now a freshman in college, but I would like to apply to MIT as a transfer student. According to this statement, it seems like I am not eligible for the transfer admission at the moment. May someone please clear up the statement for me? I am kind of confuse because I thought MIT offer Sophomore Transfer admission and Junior as well.

Who is eligible to transfer to MIT?
If you have completed two or more terms at an accredited college, university, technical institute, military academy or community college, you may apply for transfer admission to MIT. We do not, however, admit students who will have finished less than one year of college or will be within three semesters of acquiring a bachelor's degree at the time of transfer.

Thank you very much.

John

The statement says you are welcome to apply if you will be a sophomore or a first semester junior at the time you would transfer.

There you go

I think you confused about the word “TERM” I think they mean semester.

They will not accept you to start this spring, because you will be completing ony one semester, but you can apply and start next fall.

In conclusion you are all set to apply for the next fall.

I hope this helps, and see you at MIT!

I know their policy that I will lose some of my credits, probably one semester.

Here it stays clearly that I will lose at least one semester, and basically when I am suppose to become a “junior”, I would demote back to sophomore, just want to double on that statement.

But you still get the brass ring ;D
