Class of 2017 here
I currently have a 2190 superscore (710-750-730) yet I am still looking to apply to some top schools nexty ear.
If I decide to take the new SAT and do well on it, will it help my application, or will colleges only look at what they consider the highest?
This goes as well for the ACT. If I were to take the ACT and do as well/better, will they see that I am a “flexible” test taker and consider that as a “pro” for my application? Or is this irrelevant?
Doing well in both the SAT and ACT is irrelevant. They only use one set of test scores for admission. For the SAT I have not seen a single school say they will superscore across the old and new versions of the test so they will only use the high score.
Usually you would only send your highest score. So which ever test you do best on is the one you send. There are some schools that require you send all of your scores but even then they use your highest score to base your admission off. There’s no need do well on every type of test. Each test has a different format and usually you perform better on one than the other but it’s irrelevant to whether you only take one type of test or three types of tests.
