will my acceptance be rescinded????

YA darn it i cant believe I have to start a thread like this but
the situation is, my school sends out 2nd semester grades on the final transcript, thank god not seperate quarter grades or i will even be more screwed...

1st semester grades
AP Stats A+
AP Physics C A-
AP Econ A+
AP English Lit B+
AP Spanish A-
best so far my high school years..and then....

now my third marking period grade
Stats A
Physics B+
Econ A
English Lit B
AP Spanish B+

and worse to come my 4th marking period grade so far
Stats D-
Physics D+
Econ B
English Lit C-
Spanish D+

and so my 2nd semester grade would average like
Stats B-
Econ A-/B+
Physics C+
Eng lit - C+
Spanish C+
you think this 2nd semester grade would be enough for me to be rescinded or get academic probation????
what if my school goes nuts and send out my 4th marking period grades seperately, would i be doomed??

thanks
bow to senioritis

check your messages

Turn your Spanish and Physics into Cs and you will be perfectly fine. As it stands, finishing the year with Cs in Physics, English and Spanish could get you unwanted attention. So don't play with fire and do the necessary to turn your quarter around.

as far as ive heard, C's are fine. they might watch you closer, but wont go as far as rescinding you.

Ds are however a different story. isnt senioritis lovely.

Take a look at this...Michigan is mentioned:
NY Times article - Slackers, Beware
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/22/education/edlife/rescind22.html?ex=1178337600&en=d7a6fe70fa359571&ei=5070

i asked jnpn this already,
but i just asked my college counsellor, and they told me they only send year grades on the transcript (apparently te secretary was wrong)..even though i will be getting Ds for the marking period and Cs for the semester, my year grades will still be all in the B+ to B- range. Do you think UM would bother asking for the semester grades after they see all those 1st semester grades went from A+ to a final year grade of Bs or B-s ..or would they just not bother becoz they see no Cs or Ds?

I just finished my first year at Michigan but here's what the the LSA director said at Campus day. If you get two or more C's, they ask for an explanation. D's and F's are out of the question. If you ended up not being able to raise those C's, saying it was due to senioritis would probably be a bad idea to say the least.

when u say two or more C's, do u mean 2nd semester grades or year grades?

I think they mean year grades. I went to UMich on campus day for new admitted students and that's what they said.

Second semester grades...they WILL look at them (and you have to send them.) You are dangerously close to the edge. I don't think you will get kicked out, but you might find yourself on probation.

A friend of mine works at the International Academy, a top-ranked, rigorous public IB school well known to U-M. A kid had quite a battle with admissions last year, rescission, GC appeal, parent pleas...the works, over grade issues not as serious as your decline. Good luck bearcats. As they say, play with fire and you might get burned.

what if my school doesnt do the semester grades seperately and just send out year grades? would UM call and ask? or would they just not bother?

I think they just look at what the school sends them. My school does year grades, not semester, so that's what the colleges see on the transcript.
