I was admitted to NYU in ED II and my transcript is mainly As with a few Bs. I got a C in AP Calc BC in the last semester. Would that affect school’s decision?
No.
No. Also was it online due to COVID?
No. But we literally had only one test counted toward the GPA.
Only one grade for the entire semester?
Yep. One quiz or two, and a single test.
So the correct answer to @compmom 's question is “no” since you had multiple grades. Regardless, it does not matter - their classroom, their rules. If the teacher wants to make the entire semester’s grade hinge on one assessment, that is their right, assuming in accordance with school policies. Expect no leniency from colleges, particularly since grades based on one assessment are not uncommon in colleges, or international high schools for that matter.
But again, you won’t be rescinded.
Thanks. That’s a great comfort.
Unless the admission offer came with a condition that you did not fulfill, then no.
If there was a condition that you “must maintain your previous academic performance” but your senior year grades were lower than previous grades, then you may be concerned. However, rescission is unlikely unless you earned a D or F grade, or your GPA dropped by a lot (e.g. 3.9 → 2.1).
Yes, as mentioned above, college courses often have fewer larger items of evaluation for grading than high school courses.
