Will My Admission Be Rescinded from Brandeis?!

Hey everyone...so I just received my final report card and found out that I got a 61 (D-) in Honors Statistics for Quarter 4...however, my grade is a 76 (C) for my final grade. The rest of my final grades are A's and B's, as are the rest of my Quarter 4 Grades. The reason why I'm concerned is that I started off the year very well in Stats, as I got a 90 (A) and a 88 (B+) for my first two quarters. However, after that, my teacher left due to her pregnancy, and we got a teacher that wasn't very good (many people did poorly as his student, not just myself), hence a C third quarter and a D fourth quarter.

Will my admission to Brandeis be rescinded because of this? Thanks!

Colleges usually don’t see quarter grades. Usually quarter grades aren’t on transcripts.

your year-end grade should be fine.

What did your semester grade say?

Ask your school to let you see your transcript so you can see what the school will see.

I’ve already seen my transcript (for freshman-junior year anyways) and it only shows final grades and GPA. Thanks!

You should be fine. It’s only one C with A’s and B’s for the rest of your classes. If you’re any kind of humanities/social sciences major, even more so.

in order to be rescinded or have your enrollment in any way compromised, you would need to do something which brings into question whether or not you are mature and hard-working enough to handle the transition to college. Colleges do not take rescission (right word?) lightly, as it means losing a paying customer in whom they have already invested resources. They do not just rescind people and tell them bye bye willy-nilly. Possible reasons include a serious deviation from previous record of academic performance or serious disciplinary issues.
Getting a C in statistics does not bring into question whether you are mature enough for college. Therefore, while you may be miffed by your grade, you need not fear for your college career.

Most students at Brandeis get no better than a C in statistics (it’s a notorious killer course).

You should be fine.
And good luck at 'Deis, it’s an awesome school.

Whew ok you guys have made me feel so much better. Thanks so much for all of your responses!!!
