Hi,
I was admitted RD into Cornell's ILR but I'm nervous about my second semester grades. There is a possibility I will be getting a D in my AP Stats class. However, I have A's in all my other classes (5 other APs). So my unweighted GPA (with the D) would be a 3.6 and my weighted GPA would be a 4.7 or so.

Will Cornell rescind over this?

Thanks!

I doubt your admission will be. But it depends what your GPA was when you were admitted and the reason for your drop. Most likely, however, it will not be.

If the school is concerned about senior grades, you might get a letter from a dean during the summer asking you to contact them or set up a meeting to discuss what happened and why. They want you to be successful as an undergrad and might set you up with some support or closer monitoring to be sure you do well. It’s highly unlikely that your admission decision would change based on senior grades, and the scenario you describe with just one low grade would very likely not even prompt the school to inquire about the matter.
