I got accepted into UMich college of engineering and I've decided to attend. But I have a problem:

I take the IB Diploma (toughest courses offered) and AP Computer Science in addition. But this semester, I might get a C in both AP Computer Science and IB Higher Level Math. The rest are all A/B.

However, Michigan accepted me when I had a B- in Math and a C in Comp Sci. Have my grades slipped too much? Am I in danger of having my admission revoked?

Please reply soon and thanks in advance.

"The University of Michigan expects all aspects of your academic performance and conduct in your senior year to be consistent with the record you presented upon admission. Any significant decline in your academic performance, such as three or more C’s, any D’s, E’s or F’s, may be cause for revoking admission. Declining grades or a significant change in curriculum may also be cause for revoking admission. Although senior year grades are reported directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and reviewed, it is your responsibility to advise OUA of any serious decline in grades or changes in course selections previously entered on your application. Please note that transfer students are also subject to revocation if their course work completed before the intended term of enrollment at U-M does not meet our academic standards.

It is also important that you maintain high standards of behavior and conduct. Misconduct that occurs or comes to light after your admission, such as disciplinary action at your high school/college that leads to suspension or expulsion, criminal charges or convictions, or other serious behavioral incidents may be cause for revoking admission."

Thanks for the quick reply blue_box.

But my friend’s father attended the college of engineering orientation or something like that and apparently they said that you’re out if you get one C. That’s why I’m worried…

A quick note, the link is broken because I copied it directly like an idiot, instead of copying the link separately.

I don’t think they’ll revoke your admission because of one C. You’d be better off calling them though.

Not sure about engineering but believe the formula is more like : 3Cs, a D or and F result in a letter and review, to which you respond and explain what happened. Doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily be rescinded, just that you’ll be asked to account. So you sound like you’ll be fine.

I am somewhat confused about this policy of revocation. Is the “no more than 3 C’s” rule for final grades, or semester grades? My school does six semesters per year(which is strange, I know), so do I have to worry about the combination of each semester’s grades or just the ones posted as final?

Just the final ones, I would think. The ones you send to your college after graduating.
