Will my bad SAT II scores reduce my chances?

I probably wouldn't have a chance of admission if I had good SAT II scores, but I was wondering if 570 in Literature and 590 in Math 2 would ruin everything for me.

I have a 2020 SAT score
28 ACT
3.63 unweighted
4.0 weighted

100 + hours volunteering
Member of 5 clubs....treasurer for Spanish club
I also work

Low income, not born in America, live in California

What UCs should I apply to........should I even waste the money to apply for UCLA?

apply to all the ones you want to goto. being able to goto the college you really like is worth so much more than the application fee (and if you are low income, i think you can apply for fee waivers). even if you don't get in, at least you get a definite answer instead of wondering "what if" for the rest of your life. even if you think you'll have no chance of getting in somewhere you want to goto, just apply because admissions are never black and white.

aaaamen...do exactly what VTECaddict says

Obviously I think you should apply to any that you want to go to.

Realistically on your UCLA chances I believe you are quite a reach if you're an engineering major. I think the math 2 is a bad sign for engineers. For Letters and Sciences I'm not too sure but I would guess a small reach.

apply to the top ones and some safeties you would consider going to. in fact, i applied to them all just to keep my options open. The application fee is not that much, and its just one app. btw, yes you have an uphill battle at the top UCs.

not everyone can have a compleltely solid app. listen just be honest in part 3 of the personal statement explain the situation if there is a reason behind it...if not make something up. if these admission counselors want to change up the game with holistics admissions use it to your advantage

tay25b:

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safe Match

Write good essays, and if you had a little more EC (leadership) then you would be a match for SD. You're a match for anything below SD.
