So, I’m an incoming freshman at UC Davis and during the summer, I took a community college course. I ended up doing pretty bad in it, so I was wondering if my community college GPA would affect my UC GPA?
Is the community college an a-g course requirement? If so, yes it will be factored into your UC GPA.
From UC Website::::
If a high school student takes a UC-transferable course at a college/university and lists it on their UC application, will the grade earned in the course be included in their GPA, even if it is not listed on their high school transcript?
Students must report all enrollment and academic coursework. If the course the student took is in an “a-g” subject area, the grade will be calculated in the GPA, and if the course is transferable, it will earn an extra grade point and college credit. Upon admission to UC, the student will be required to submit an official transcript from the college/university in addition to their high school transcript.
thank you, this was really helpful. do you know if political science is an a-g requirement? @Gumbymom
i know that i did complete all my a-g requirements in high school, so i’m not sure if this would add on @Gumbymom
If you took the course at a California CC then you look up the course to see if it is an a-g course requirement.

Did you take it post graduation or while in HS? Post graduation, then it will not effect your UC GPA since you are already admitted. It will be separate from your UCD GPA and you need to send a copy of the transcripts to UCD for them to accept the course.
If you took while in HS then it will be part of your UC GPA but I would assume that you are already admitted, it makes no difference on your acceptance. You still have to report it to UCD.
yes, I took it post graduation. again, thank you so much! @Gumbymom
