Will my CSUEB admission be rescinded?

I got admitted to California State University East Bay, but I fail my AP Calculus first semester of senior year. My GPA is a 3.0 when I inputted my courses into the Cal State Application and I got 1060 on my SAT and a 20 on my ACT. Will I be rescinded? Also, I’m really looking forward to Cal State Northridge, should I lose hope of getting accepted there?

Each Calstate sets their own critera for rescinding applicants. Rule of thumb is no D’s or F’s Senior year however that is not true for all schools. Contact each school and ask about your options. Some may let it slide if you get the grade up to a C by years end. Better to find out now how to deal with this problem than later when you might not have any options.
Best of luck.

@Gumbymom is giving out good advice (as usual). Don’t ignore it. Contact the school immediately and make sure you get the name of the person who you speak with, just in case. Don’t avoid the inevitable. It will come whether you like it or not. There may be a way to fix thing between now and June.

Last year our family friend got a D in his English class in the Spring of his senior year. He did NOT talk to the school (CSUMB) and, in an immature way, just hoped that they would not rescind his acceptance. He kept getting all of the positive emails that the school normally sends out. He scheduled his orientation visit and went in June. Everything looked awesome. Clearly they were not going to rescind! His parents put down his housing deposit and he scheduled his classes.

And then they verified his transcripts. It “blindsided” him when they rescinded. Worse, and to just get to the point, he could have possibly fixed it in Summer school had he notified them early and asked for a waiver/extension (not guaranteed, but possible).

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen AP Calc blow up a college admission. With a 3.0, your HS should have never let you in the class. I agree with the above posters - contact EB ASAP and let them know. Since it is not a required class. they may let it slide or, at this stage, they my give you a path to re mediate the grade.

See if your HS will let you out of the class before you get too far into the next semester.
