Hello all, I was recently admitted to UCLA’s engineering program. However it is very possible that i may get a C in a non-prerequisite. It is actually an additional topics course in Linear algebra that does not transfer over to UCLA. Other than this class, I am doing well in my Differential equations course, and I should at least get a B in my physics course. This semester has been rough for me, and I would hate to have all 3 years of hard work go down the drain for just one semester.
I’m really stressed about this.
I’m 99.9% certain that UCLA’s engineering program doesn’t care about grades in classes that won’t transfer. In general, the UCs don’t care about nontransferable classes.
Thank you for responding!I appreciate it. Well, the course in which i might get a C does transfer to very few UC’s. But, UCLA is not one of them. So do you believe should be fine with this one C?. My overall community college record is strong. I would ask UCLA directly, but at this point it is a hypothetical situation.
See if you can email an engineering counselor for their opinion, but I’m with Cayton.
If it doesn’t transfer I don’t know why they would care, especially. But let them know ASAP, even if you’re not sure. They respond better, and you have a better outcome, when they have a heads up.
I’ve sent an E-mail to a UCLA counselor, since final grades are not out yet, nothing is official yet. I’m hoping for the best.
