Will my EC cause problems?

Well here's the deal, I have a vast number of EC. The only problem is that they are mainly concentrated in athletics. I play so many sports that all my time is sucked up and I really have little to no time to branch out in any other way. Even in the summer I am sucked up by football and volunteering. So could you guys take a look at my EC and tell me how I could possibly improve on them. Also, will these EC cause me problems because they are not really focused one a specific field, business for example? Note that although I could compete in college, I do not plan to play and sports in college. Also I do not plan on applying to a top 10 school. (I did poorly sophmore year and my GPA just isn't high enough for a top 10 school). I think the tier below these top schools would suit me well.

Football (9-12)
-2 year Varsity
-JV Captain
-2 year starter
-Team record- most blocked punts in a season (yea don't ask about this, but it got me pretty famous so I think it would be worth noting)

Karate (10-12)
-Green Belt
-Black Belt by end of senior year

Track (9-12)
-2 year Varsity
-Division Champions

Powerlifting (9-12)
-500 pound club
-1000 pound club
-Team Squat record

Soccer (9-12)
-3 time League All-Star
-League Champions
-Captain

Hospital Volunteer (9-11)
-200 hours volunteered
-Volunteer of the month

Islamic Society Youth Group (10-12)
-100 hours of community service projects

You really don't have to do much else.

Thank you. Any other opinions?

If you're not shooting for a top-tier school, you seem to be all right. Your involvement in sports is broad and you have depth too. You do need to write your essays on other, more intellectual things though. Prove you have other sides, that is all that matters. Good luck! Where do you plan to apply? What are your test scores? I hope you have a good courseload.

I have a good course workload; I've been taking almost as many AP and Honors classes as possible.

My Stats:

GPA: (Messed up really badly sophmore year but have picked up since then. I don't have my exact GPA yet, since school isn't over yet)
Freshman: 89
Sophmore: 88
Junior: 97 (Est)
Cumulative: 91-92 (Est)

SAT: 1420/2110 (Plan to retake)

Awards: Rotary Club Bridging the Gap Competiton: 2nd place
Scholar-Athlete Award
Achievment in Science

Job: Same job all three years during the summer at the Hamilton Gastroenterology Center

School: Number 1 Choice--Boston College
Lehigh
North Carolina
Syracuse
Pitt
Lafayette
Tufts

I'm not too sure if I am reaching too high for all of these schools and if I am, any suggestions on improving my chances would be great.

You have a good shot at all of those schools - I would add a couple of more reaches.

So are all the schools I listed good match school or are they slight reaches? Also what would be decent reach schools based on stats alone?

good SAT scores...apply to duke! it's a good reach and unc-chapel hill was a smart choice

Tufts is reach, rest are matches I would say. (BC/UNC might be very slight reach)

Take a shot at Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice, Cornell, and some top LAC's if you are interested.

Would my GPA cause too many problems for the top schools such as Rice and Cornell? I am interested, but I figured my GPA is not going to be high enough to even have a chance at those places.

I don't think having too many sports would harm you. I'm sure they can tell just by looking that all those teams will have taken up most of your time. Also, you have lots of volunteer hours too, so it should be sufficient enough.

Alright. Thanks a lot for the help guys. I'll look for some attainable reach schools and hope for the best.
