will my grades be my downfall?

<p>these are my sophomore grades. will they be my downfall? (I am aiming for Columbia University) I showed improvement. does that matter?</p>

<p>semester 1 grades:
honors precalc: B+
ap european history: B+
honors english: A-
honors chemistry: A
ap spanish language: A
programming: A+
choir: A+</p>

<p>semester 2 grades:
honors precalc: A
ap european history: A
honors english: A-
honors chemistry: A+
ap spanish language: A
programming: A+
choir: A+</p>

<p>these are excellent grades. since you still have a long way to go, you can boost your chances by excel on SAT/AP and in other areas.</p>

<p>Even if you had a 2270+ SAT/34+ ACT, as well as dedication in your ECs, you still have to have a safety…</p>

<p>Your grades are fantastic! Just keep them up, do well on the your SATs/ACTs when the time comes to take them, and maintain a good amount of interesting and rewarding extracurriculars as well. And as Catria said, remember to keep some safety schools in mind.</p>
