Hi all,

I'm planning to study sociology and go into academia after graduation. The only university I'm looking at is the University of Chicago. I am super determined to transfer and more than prepared to work hard in my second year in college (I'm a rising sophomore now).

My only concern: I was told that admissions people will take into account how much money the student will be able to donate to the university when they make transfer decisions. So... will I be disadvantaged because of my major and my future plans (which, as you know, will not make a whole lot of money and donate a lot to the school)?
