Note: Last thread on this I promise!
Ok so these are officially the grades on my mid-term report for my second semester of freshman year in college that I have submitted to the schools to which I’m applying that require it (Columbia, Penn, Brown, and Georgetown):
- Intro to Psychology: B (w/ note explaining that this only represents the first exam and that there is an optional final exam that can replace the lowest test grade)
- Intro to Microeconomics: A-
- College Writing I (required course): A
- History of Economic Thought: A
- Calculus II: Pass (taking on a credit/no credit basis)
My goal was for the mid-term report to be a neutral factor overall, but do you think the B in Psych could work distinctly against me despite it not being one of my declared areas of academic interest (history, economics and anthropology)? I extremely regret not taking Intro to Cultural Anthropology (same time as Intro to Psych) instead this semester but oh well.
Also for those of you who might have noticed I’ve posted a lot of threads asking about this recently, please be assured that this is the last such thread as I have officially send out the mid-term report and there is no fretting left to do (other than getting your input one last time). But I would also appreciate if you weighed in one last time to let me know whether this will be a positive, negative or neutral factor in my attempts to transfer. Keep in mind I’m at a top 20 uni applying to other top 20 unis.
P.S. What is the likelihood that adcoms would recalculate my college GPA using these mid-term grades? I got a 4.0 my first semester so if they recalculated using this semester’s grades (3.675 GPA) I’d have a 3.84.
