Hello! I am a bit depressed now because I made a mistake on the December date. I wrote the essay with pencil #2 but I circled the answers on the answer sheet with another pencil differenet from #2. I wrote somewhere that the tests are scored by a computer mashine. Will my test be scored?
Thank you very much in advance! :(

The tests ARE scored by machine. that's why they need the number 2.. why did you circle it with another pencil anyway?

I'm pretty sure it'll get scored.

They make non #2 pencils?

yesssss, otherwise they wouldnt specify for number 2 pencils :P

hrmm... I used a mechanical pencil on my entire test... Other people did it too, and I've done it on APs. Will I be ok? :/

Most mechanical pencils are in fact #2 pencils...Just as a fyi.

i think it's ok
they only scan for the graphite anyways, which pretty much all pencils have
i took the old SAT and used a mechanical pencil; Collegeboard still scored it

depends how close it is to #2 i think... as far as shine and darkness of markings go..

Don't you think that if our pencil is not #2 some of the questions can be missed?
One more thing - I read smwh (after the test) that it is good if you don't sharpen your pencil in order to fill the bubbles easier. Do you think it is true? It means that maybe they chose the #2 for faster completing because the other pencils may take longer time to be filled?
I am so worried about my grid-ins...I am sure that they are true but I don't know whether they will scan the answers...

if you wanna follow that strategy, bring a sharp pencil for the essay.

That's why the essay is the first section...

i cant believe ur actually worried about this...of course it will be scored. i wrote both APs and SATs with non #2 pencils, and they were scored fine... those warnings are just gay

i've always used mechanical pencils for SAT.. never had a porblem =p you can always get it hand scored

Hey, I found something and I am too happy. I am an international students and ...

U.S. Europe

1 = B

2 = HB (most common)

2 1/2 = F (also seen as 2 4/8, 2.5, 2 5/10, due to patent issues)

3 = H

4 = 2H

I used exactly HB=#2 but there was nobody who told me that before.

Thank you for your opinions!
