Will my SAT II math score look bad?

Hi,

I’m a junior in high school right now, and I took the SAT II Math level 2 a few months ago. I got a 770 on it, which I know isn’t terrible, but it’s in the ~70th percentile. I’ve signed up to take the SAT II for physics and US history in march, both of which I think I can do well on. I really don’t want to retake the SAT II for math, because honestly, I forgot pretty much everything from precalculus. Also, I plan on either majoring in mathematics or physics in college. I’m good at math; I think I just slipped up on that test.

I also got a 2360 on my SAT with an 800 in math, and I’ve gotten 5’s on the calculus AB and calculus BC exams. Would these, I guess, compensate for a 770 in math II if I wanted to be a math major? The only real reason I’m worried about a 770 is because of its relatively low percentile compared to the percentiles of 770’s on other SAT II’s. Thanks

Don’t worry about retaking a 770 Math II. Most consider above a 750 on any subject test to be good. And don’t worry too much about percentiles, I got a 780 on Chemistry and that correlated to somewhere between the 66-68th percentile.

I think your done with standardized tests

You shouldn’t compare a 770 on Math II with a 770 on other subject tests. Subject tests are scaled differently. I wouldn’t worry about a 770 on Math II.

Chill. You are fine. Where are you applying?

Thank you everyone

Albert, I’m not really sure where I’m going to apply yet. I just want to keep my options open. A school that I’m definitely going to apply to, though, is UMich (I live in Michigan). Not really sure about anything else, haha.
