I took the SAT in January and originally thought that I needed to retake in order to receive a good enough score to become a National Merit Scholar Finalist. However, I soon learned that my score was fine (was not aware that MC writing score was used instead of overall writing score). After I found this out, I cancelled my November test date and forgot to send my original scores to NMSC. I received a letter in the mail saying that my scores had not been received yet just a couple of days ago. Tonight, I rushed the shipping of my scores so that they will be shipped within two business days, but I am panicking that my scores might not be received by the December 31 deadline. It's only 13 days away from today! How concerned should I be? I don't want a silly mistake to affect my chances of becoming a finalist.

You shouldn’t be concerned. The scores will make it. But you should start tracking specific dates like that.
