Will my senior year grades be counted onto my GPA?

I plan on applying in regular admission.

I have a low GPA, and my senior year grades are going to boost it. I'm worried that when I apply, colleges will only see count my grades prior to senior year.

Help?

Some schools will request your mid-year senior year grades and factor them into the decision. But everything past about mid-February will never count for admissions, and in some cases none of your senior grades at all will be considered.

It will only help if you really do extremely well - like all A’s or something along that line. It will only hurt if you get D’s or F’s. Schools will generally ask for 7th semester to confirm that you have completed the classes you listed on your application. If your grades improve dramatically you could contact admissions and point out your improvements. I am a firm believer in talking and getting your name in their ears if you are serious about attending a particular school.

What about ED?
Would your first MP grades (which would come out about mid November) be counted?

if you have a significant upward trend, you should talk to your counselor about her/him sending a supplemental letter in January when your grades from 1st semester are out. This can point out your rising maturity, how you’re taking school more seriously, and of course the miraculous jump in your grades. Talk now so you prime her/him to send it, or figure out an alternative if you find out they won’t.
