Will my teachers be writing separate recommendations for separate schools?

Will my teachers be writing separate recommendations for separate schools, or will I ask each of the selected teachers to write one recommendation, and then photocopy them? Will I basically be sending the same recommendation letters to different schools?

I'm sorry if this question seems to be lacking common sense...haha :) .

I have another question, too. What do you guys consider a reasonable number of schools to apply to? I was thinking around 10; is that too much? I'm a junior in high school, but I've seen some of the application forms and noticed that some of the schools I'm applying to ask me to list the other schools I'm applying to. Would listing 10 show a lack of discretion/look bad in any way?

Thank-you!

At my school, my teachers type up their recommendations, and for each school I ask them to send a rec to, they edit their rec to suit the type of school it is. So, basically the same rec, with minor -- trivial -- modifications.

Oh, and I never see them, of course. I give my teachers the stamped envelopes, a thank-you hug, the rec forms (common app and non common app) and my senior profile. They do the rest. :)

Wow...a junior. Working already? Good luck!

Thanks! Lol. Honestly, I'm just so excited about high school ending next year.

hmm I think it depends on how u ask the teachers. if u have more than one prospective majors they will change a little bit to make the letter sounds right to the major.
