So I need a total of 6 textbooks, 4 for my GE cluster, 1 for chem14a, and 1 for math 1. I already bought my math 1 textbook from a friend and I bought one of the GE cluster books at my local borders. I need to order 4 books still, and I am going to place the order tonight from the UCLA store. I move in on the 19th and I live in Southern California, about 47 miles away from UCLA campus. Do you think the books will be shipped and arrive at my house before the 19th, given that there are no terrorist attacks or anything crazy within the next 2 weeks.

why don't you just pick up your books? then you won't have to pay for shipping.

I had one of my books shipped to me from the ucla store. I got my book yesterday and I ordered it on august 29 (I paid for the most basic shipping). I think they taxed me twice >:( (shipping and tax made my book $40 more than the listed price) if distance matters I currently live 30-ish miles away from campus.

anyway short answer: yes I think it will get there in time, but I don't think it's worth it.

i ordered my chem books on the 29th and they still haven't arrived.

i live 25 miles from ucla...

Could I just wait until welcome week when I move in to buy my books at the UCLA store? Or will the place be super packed and stuff? Do they ever "sell out" on books? I'm scared if I did that they may say they ran out of Chem14A books and I'll have to wait several weeks before new ones arrive.

Yes, yes, no.

i was wondering.. for math3a, it says that "Neuhauser

Calculus F/ Biol & Med (2nd) Pkg W/rev Ssm" is optional.. should I buy it?

nvm.

If you're still in the timeframe to be able to edit a post, then why not just delete it -_____-"

I ordered on like the 5th or something, and they came 3 or 4 days later. And I live like 300+ miles away, so pretty good. And a total of 14 books, FYI. It was kind of a small package, still, though.

FYI: It IS possible for the UCLA bookstore to run out of books... It's happened to me at least twice in my undergraduate career. When (or if) that happens they'll usually let you know when a new shipment will be in...
