I was accepted into ND Early Action, and I am wondering what it would take for that admission to be rescinded once I turn in my final transcript. Currently out of my seven classes I have 3 A's, 3 B's, and 1 C in AP Calculus. I am working to get the C up to a B. My school is notorious for not backing off of seniors, and the slip in my grades (I used to have straight A's with an occasional B) is not because I've stopped caring about my schoolwork, but because I've decided that in my last semester of high school I'd rather focus my time on track, volunteer projects, and spending time with my friends than spending all my free time alone in my room with my textbooks. Alumni that I have spoken to have told me all A's and B's will keep me in, but am I in serious trouble if I can't raise that C given that I keep all my other grades at a B or higher? Thanks for any input you have.

They probably won’t, but they really should! Many applicants would get rejected for that. Notre Dame really likes applicants with a high class rank. A few B’s are enough to knock any student out of the top ten!

I’m not sure where it is on the website, but somewhere it says that you’re fine as long as you don’t get two or more C’s, or one D. One C will not cause them to review your app. Two C’s or one D will cause them to review your app, but not automatically rescind it. You better have a pretty good reason though I think.

I’m in a similar boat - I got in EA and I have a C in one of my toughest classes. Overall, it should come out to a final grade of a B in the class as long as it doesn’t go as low as a 70… Should I be working harder to get it back up? I too really want to focus on other things this semester as I’ve worked hard to get where I am with GPA and scores and extracurriculars; I don’t want to do anything to mess that up.
